Grow Your Social Media Platforms Organically

There are so many social media platforms you can use to grow your business. Once you’ve determined the right social media platforms that can reach your target customer, put plans in place to organically grow your platforms. Think about your social media goals and devote specific times to upload photos, post a status, send a message or create a board.

You can organically grow your followers on social media using a combination of strategies. It’s the quality of followers you have on social media not necessarily the quantity. Of course, it makes sense when celebrities have thousand of followers on social media or when big companies mass market a product or service. There are many businesses simply focused on gaining more followers on social media but I want to stress the importance of connecting with quality followers.

What is a quality follower on social media? A quality follower would be one that has something in common with you or your business. I know that definition seems rather broad. Let me be more specific. A quality follower on social media can be another business that you may collaborate with or a potential person looking for work that may help grow your business. When it’s a potential customer interested in your products and services there is no doubt we are all satisfied. Quality followers are often people or companies that can share valuable resources with you. Sometimes they are family or friends that support your business and refer you. These are all examples of quality followers.

When you represent your company on social media what is your purpose? I say one goal might be to attract quality followers. There are so many companies out there promising more followers on Twitter or asking you to pay for Facebook Likes to increase your numbers. More followers and more Likes are valuable when there is a meaning behind them. Next time you send out a message on social media for your company think about gaining quality followers.

Don’t forget to use the search tool to seek out companies or people that can have a positive impact on your company. Have a social media strategy for each platform and check your social media analytics to connect with your audience when they are online.
